Well, Fourth of July weekend snuck up on me. I feel like the beginning of June was just yesterday but, sure enough, July is here. I wasn’t even thinking about how close we were to July until Chelsea brought me these awesome navy blue sneakers with stars printed on them from Target – all the heart eyes over these babies! Besides the fact that my best friend found these new kicks for me I think my second favorite thing about them was that they were for sale at Target for $10. How can you beat that, and why is Target always the best?!? These shoes will be able to go with so many different outfits and have become my new favorite pair of shoes.
I’m not exactly prepared for this year’s Fourth of July, but I have always loved the festivities of this holiday. It is always so much fun spending the entire day celebrating with friends and family in the sun, eating lots of watermelons, watching all of the fireworks, and then sometimes setting off some extra fireworks for a late night show. This year though I might be spending the evening hiding Barley under my bedsheets to “protect” him from the fireworks. Granted, I should take partial blame for his fear of fireworks. Last year I thought it would be a good idea to ride my bike downtown with Barley to watch the fireworks and at first, he was really excited. Or at least he was really excited until the first firework went off. After that, he sprinted half of the way home and ever since has been terrified of the noises. But, at least before he gets scared from the fireworks he’ll get to spend the majority of the day playing with his best friend Jethro at my parent’s house for our family cookout.
